I saw a gas-powered Power rake for rent at my local hardware store which could expedite the process of raking. But my only question is, what happens if i power rake my lawn before it has been cut. Ideally i want to use the power rake to loosen up and make fall these grass seeds before i mow my entire lawn.

Is this ok to do? Wil the power rake not destroy my present lawn because of this outgrowth happening?
